Bio

My name is Rakeila Manning. I am a graduate of Armstrong State University and have earned my bachelor’s degree in middle grades education, with a concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I have eight years of experience working with the education of adolescents. I am a native of Savannah and was educated in this same public school system. So, I know some of the challenges, as well as the positive aspects of our school system. My goal is to help students with their transitions through middle school, as swiftly as possible. Another one of my goals is to see each student achieve the necessary requirements to move on to their next grade level. I am ecstatic to be here at Isle of Hope another year! I will push my students to their fullest capabilities and wish that I can have your full support while trying to do just that. I am a very open person and I love to communicate students’ growth and/or needs for improvement. I will create engaging lessons so that students get excited about learning. I am an expert at accommodating students’ needs. I plan to incorporate many of my best strategies in my classroom, such as flexible grouping and differentiation. I am confident that I will be able to provide interesting lessons for your child, while creating a welcoming atmosphere so they also feel welcomed to be themselves. I have been coaching cheer for over 10 years, so I have a great deal of experience with kids as well as the sport. I encourage hard work, determination, and excelling in studies. I hold my team to a high standard and will not deter from that. I also do not mind putting in the work to help them excel.
